Meet the Chiefs

Chief
Edward Lewandowski
Born and raised in Union Beach and Keyport, Chief Lewandowski is a graduate of Keyport High
School. He began his volunteer service with the Union Beach First Aid Squad and the Union
Gardens Fire Company obtaining his original EMT and Firefighter status in 1984. Chief
Lewandowski is a Combat Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and after returning to Keyport,
joined the Keyport First Aid Squad and the Keyport Fire Department.
Chief Lewandowski rose through the ranks of the Keyport Fire Department from Firefighter, to 2 nd
Lieutenant, 1 st Lieutenant, and Captain of Raritan Hose for 7 years. Chief Lewandowski joined the
Chief ranks in 2022 as 3 rd Assistant Chief, 2023 as 2 nd Assistant Chief, 2024 as 1 st Assistant (Deputy)
Chief and in 2025 became Chief of Department.
Chief Lewandowski has served on the following specialty units, Rapid Intervention Crew (FAST),
Marine Division, First Responders and Fire Museum. He holds the following Certifications,
Safety Officer, Haz-Mat On Scene Commander, Incident Management Level 3, Ice Water Rescue.
Chief Lewandowski is currently on the Monmouth County Active Chiefs Committee reviewing the
Rehabilitation protocols of Firefighters at Fire Scenes.

Deputy Chief
Brendan Parker
Joined the Keyport Fire Cadets as a charter member in 2003 and the Keyport First Aid Squad Cadets in 2003. Obtained Emergency Medical Technician at 16 Years old and Firefighter 1 at 18 years old. Served on the departments Rapid Intervention Crew (FAST), Marine Division,Dive Team Tender,Training Division,Fire Museum. Served as a department Fire Officer for 13 years Captain Of Lincoln Hose for 6 years.
